The following rules and regulations are designed to ensure bondholders and their guests’ comfort and safety. Any situation not described below will be evaluated and acted upon by pool manager and/or pool management committee.
PLEASE READ THESE RULES CAREFULLY!
- Bondholders shall instruct their children to observe all regulations.
- Everyone must obey the instructions of the pool manager, lifeguards, and other staff.
MEMBERSHIP IDENTIFICATION
- A membership database with a CURRENT PHOTO will be kept on file with the gate attendant.
- Each member will receive a membership identification tag, which must be presented to the gate attendant to enter.
- Lost identification tags must be replaced at a cost to the member.
** MEMBERS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE POOL WITHOUT PROPER IDENTIFICATION **
GUESTS
- Each family membership is permitted to bring guests. However, the privileges may be limited at the discretion of the pool manager to prevent overcrowding.
- Bondholders must ensure that their family and guests comply with pool rules and regulations and are responsible for any damage caused by their guests.
- A guest fee or guest pass is required for every guest for every visit to Campus Cabana and all members must sign a guest slip which shall contain the name and age of the guest for each visit to Campus Cabana.
- Guests MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER. Bondholders must remain in attendance with their guests.
- Guests born January 1 or later of the current year are free.
SPECIAL GROUPS
As a private club, special guest groups (church, school and other community groups) must be sponsored by a member and may only be admitted with the specific approval of the Pool Manager. Approval of such groups is necessary prior to the event to prevent overcrowding and the member sponsor must be present. The ratio for guests to sponsoring members is 25:1, in the case of a school party there is a kids to adults ratio of 5:1 that must be obeyed, a point of contact should be provided, with phone number, to the gate guard on duty during the guests’ presence at Campus Cabana.
VIOLATION/ENFORCEMENT:
THE POOL MANAGER (OR ASSISTANT IN HIS/HER ABSENCE) SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REFUSE ADMISSION TO OR IMMEDIATELY EJECT ANY PERSON FROM THE CORPORATION PROPERTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY POOL RULE. Serious violations may result in suspension or expulsion in accordance with the bylaws of the corporation. Pool Management has the final word for any activity occurring on pool grounds that may impede and/or interfere with the general safety and welfare of Members/Guests.
HEALTH REGULATIONS
- In the event of vomit, blood and/ or fecal contaminations, the pool will be closed in accordance with Health Department regulations.
- Expectorating, nose blowing, spouting of water, eliminating of body wastes and unhygienic acts into the pool are prohibited.
- Admission to the pools shall be refused to all persons having an active infection, sore or inflamed eyes, colds, nasal or ear discharges, excessive sunburn, open sores or bandages of any kind.
- The wearing of street shoes within the pool area may be restricted at the discretion of the Pool Manager.
- Infants and children wearing diapers or who are NOT toilet-trained shall be permitted in the toddler pool but must wear tight fitting rubber pants or “swim diapers.”
- Infants and children wearing diapers or who are NOT toilet-trained are not permitted in the main pool at any time.
- Caregivers should frequently check swim diapers and swim pants (about every 60 minutes). Diaper changing is NOT allowed poolside (i.e., pool decks) or on picnic tables. It is recommended that patrons use the diaper-changing stations provided in the rest rooms. This will allow for washing of hands after diaper/pants changing and reduce the chance of fecal and germ contamination of areas around the pool. However, if it is not practical to use the changing tables, please choose a discrete grassy area on a mat or towel and use hand sanitizer after changing the diaper. Please dispose of dirty diapers in a sanitary manner.
- No pets allowed on the premises.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
- Only one person allowed on the diving board at a time. The individual on the diving board may bounce only one time at the end of the diving board and diving is limited to the forward direction only. Immediately upon surfacing, the swimmer should swim to the nearest ladder and exit the diving zone. The diving zone must be clear before anyone is permitted to be on the board.
- Water Slide: Only one person allowed at a time. Riders must enter the slide in the sitting position and ride on their backs at all times. The water slide zone must be clear before anyone is permitted on the water slide.
- No free swimming in the diving area. (Free Swimming is permitted in the diving area only when the diving board and water slide are closed and only at the manager’s discretion).
- No diving in the shallow area (the shallow area is the area of the pool that is not the deep area. Swim team practice and swim meets are the only exceptions to this rule.
- Hanging on the lane lines and dividing lines is prohibited.
- No smoking/vaping (electronic cigarettes and related products) in or around the main pool and toddler pool. This applies to all paved areas, bathrooms, and all enclosed/covered areas, e.g. the snack bar, pavilion, etc. We request that smokers/vapers be considerate of their neighbors.
- Parent/Guardian must closely watch children at all times. Parent/Guardian must accompany a non-swimmer in the water at all times.
- An adult, or responsible babysitter (13 years or older), must accompany children under 12 years of age while at the pool at all times.
- For the purpose of supporting non-swimmers, inner tubes, water wings, and all other flotation devices are not permitted at any time in the main pool. For safety purposes, only a life vest approved by the United States Coast Guard is to be used. If a child uses such a life vest, a parent or guardian must accompany the child in the water at all times.
- Prolonged underwater swimming, breath-holding or games including such behavior is prohibited.
- Children may use the toddler pool only when accompanied by a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must remain in the baby pool area with the child at all times.
- Children over the age of 6 are NOT permitted to use the toddler pool.
- Play toys and artificial flotation devices will be permitted in the toddler pool only with adult supervision and at the discretion of the pool management.
USE OF GROUNDS & POOL
- Food and/or drink are not permitted in the main pool, toddler pool, the main pool deck or the toddler pool deck areas. Exceptions (such as special events) are only at the discretion of pool management.
- Trash and litter in all areas, including the pavilion, must be properly disposed in trashcans, which includes cleaning off tables before exiting the facilities. Members/Guests are responsible to ensure that minors also throw away any debris.
- Bicycles are not permitted on the grounds beyond the bike rack. Motorized bikes, scooters, roller skates, roller blades, or skateboards of any kind may not be ridden anywhere on Campus’ property
- Park only in authorized parking space or on the public street. Campus Cabana does not own the parking areas used by Member/Guests. Campus Cabana Inc. and the adjoining business have the right to tow cars in prohibited parking spaces. Do not block the emergency entrance.
Do not park in the areas marked, around the office building, along the southern stretch of Providence Road, around the island during weekday business hours, and in the front of the bowling alley. Members and guests should fill the gravel lot along the between the edge of Campus Cabana and the northern stretch of Providence Road before parking in any other areas. We have handshake agreements with the surrounding businesses to be respectful and courteous of their business requirements and accommodate any requests made to maintain a friendly, neighborly relationship. We ask that we all work diligently to maintain this reliable arrangement. - Cost of any property damage will be charged to the responsible bondholder. This includes chairs that are misused for forts or are played with in a careless manner.
- Signed out athletic equipment is to be returned to the specified area. The user will be held responsible for the equipment, including replacement for damaged or lost equipment.
- Management and Campus Cabana, Inc. will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property.
- In accordance with Maryland State law, Campus Cabana, Inc. does not condone the use of alcoholic beverages by minors or possession of illegal drugs by anyone on the property.
- NO GLASS OF ANY KIND is permitted on the premises. (This includes any type of bottle, stemware, glass and pottery serving dishes, and blenders)
- No running on concrete surfaces, pushing, wrestling, horseplay, or causing undue disturbance will be permitted on the premises.
- The sandbox is for the use of children 8 years of age and under. No water is allowed in the sandbox or playground mulch.
- The Gaga ball court for the use of children under 12 years of age and under.
- No abusive or profane language or breach of the peace will be tolerated. This includes drunkenness, which may be grounds for ejection from the pool.
- “Designated ‘adult swim periods’ are for ADULTS ONLY (18 years of age and older) and will occur at the top of every hour from :00 to :10 (for example, 5:00 PM to 5:10 PM) unless otherwise designated by Pool Management &/or lifeguard staff. Exceptions may occur for special events and Swim Team needs. NO infants, toddlers, or young children are permitted during “designated adult swim periods.” Children can sit on the edge of the pool in the 3-foot area during adult swim.
- Diapered children, who are NOT potty- trained, must wear an additional protective garment, such as rubber or plastic panties, while in the toddler pool water.
- No devices (including, but not limited to “mermaid” fins and tails) other than swim goggles and fabric soft pool balls are allowed in the main pool during regular pool hours. The exception is dive torpedoes, dive sticks and dive rings, which can be used only with adult supervision and kickboards which may be used exclusively in the lap lanes, under the discretion of the lifeguards on duty. Fabric soft balls made for pool use are permitted between shallow and lap lanes only. Pool management may limit or restrict the use of fabric balls based on crowd size or pool conditions.
These rules do not apply to swim team and Junior Seahorses practices. Devices used to aid in swimming instruction are under the discretion of the swim team and Junior Seahorses coaches, with the approval of the lifeguards on duty - No remote-controlled devices that can be used on the ground or in the air, including toy vehicles and drones (with or without cameras), are permitted anywhere on or above Campus Cabana property.
- Use of laser pointers, in any manner, is prohibited on or above Campus Cabana property. Directing a laser pointer at air traffic is a federal crime, and the Campus Cabana board of directors will support any investigation (local or otherwise) concerning illegal use of laser pointers emanating from the grounds of Campus Cabana.
- The throwing of balls should be well controlled and Members/Guests must be respectful of swimmers and others on the pool grounds, which includes the tossing of balls at high speeds. Pool Management and Staff may at any time direct that ball throwing cease for safety reasons without exception or debate.
- Successful completion of a Swim Test, for patrons under the age of 12, is required to swim in deep water (higher than chest-deep) and to use deep-water features (slides, diving boards, etc.) Non-swimmers must remain in shallow water (chest-deep or less).
- Tests are given during adult swim time.
- Swimmers should meet a manager at the lifeguard chair in the 5 foot area of the pool at the START of “adult swim.”
- Swimmers must swim 2 widths of the pool in shallow water.
- Swimmers will also tread water for 1 minute in the deep end with both ears out of the water.
- Use of cameras and video cameras of any kind is strictly prohibited in all public locker, shower and changing areas. In addition, use of underwater cameras of any kind is restricted to use by adults and with prior consent by, and acknowledgment of, the manager/assistant manager on duty at the time of its use. Anyone found to be in violation of this policy may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and may be banned from this facility to take photographs without consent.
- Bullying is unacceptable at Campus Cabana and will not be tolerated. Incidents of bullying will be dealt with promptly according to our Bullying Policy (available on the Campus Cabana web site). Anyone who knows that bullying is occurring is expected to advise pool management.
General Information:
POOL DATES/HOURS
- Beginning the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend the pool will be open on a daily basis according to the published schedule.
- Management may close the pool for repairs or other emergencies and may, at the discretion of the Pool Manager, and alter the hours of operation due to inclement weather.
